How to transfer your existing site to First Place Web Host

If your site is currently hosted by another web host, it's easy to transfer your account to First Place Web Host!  We'll send you an email with an active, time-sensitive link that you can use to upload your web site files and set up your e-mail accounts.  When you have everything set up the way you want it, you'll just need to modify your domain name record with your registrar (Network Solutions, etc.) to point to our name servers.  Once the transfer is complete, you can cancel your account with the other web host, and you'll be finished.

There are no setup fees when you transfer your site to First Place Web Host.  Just sign-up and pay for your first month of hosting and you're ready to go!

TRANSFER CHECKLIST:

• Sign up for the appropriate hosting package
  Selecting the correct package for you
  • Do you need email accounts?  How many?
  • Do you need comprehensive site visitor statistics? (how many people are coming to your site, where are they coming from, which pages are they looking at, etc.)
  • Do you have special application you want to run? (You might need a dedicated server.)
  • Do you have your own server and just need a connection to the internet? (You might need co-location service.)
  • How much storage do you need? (Are you going to have a large database or a lot of pictures?)
  • How much bandwidth are you going to need? (How many people are going to view your site?)
     
• Register your domain name
  • Do you already have a domain name registered?  (If you already have a domain name but would like us to host your site, we will take care of the transfer for you.)
  • Do you need a domain name?  We can register domain names and point them to your site (DNS hosting) or you can point your name directly to your web site hosting account. When you sign-up you will receive instructions.
